COUPLES THERAPY | WESTLAKE VILLAGE, VENTURA, SANTA BARBARA, OJAI + MALIBU

Learn how to express your feelings and needs more effectively so you can resolve conflicts and build back trust.

Are you longing for the closeness you once shared?

Whether you’re slowly drifting apart or dealing with the gut-wrenching grief of betrayal, Emotional-Focused Therapy (EFT) can help you regain your footing.

Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFT is grounded in the science of attachment, helping couples understand and reshape their emotional responses to one another. Through EFT, you and your partner can break free from negative patterns, heal past wounds, and foster a deep, lasting bond.

How EFT can help your relationship:

  • Strengthen Emotional Bonds
EFT helps you and your partner identify and understand the underlying emotions driving your interactions. By addressing these emotions, you can cultivate a stronger, more resilient connection.

  • Improve Communication
Learn how to express your needs and emotions in a way that fosters understanding and empathy, leading to more meaningful and productive conversations.

  • Resolve Conflicts
EFT provides the tools to navigate and resolve conflicts in a way that brings you closer, rather than driving you apart.

  • Heal from Past Hurts
Whether you’re dealing with infidelity, loss, or other significant challenges, EFT can help you and your partner move forward with compassion and trust.

What to expect in couples therapy EFT sessions:

Our EFT sessions are a safe, supportive space where you and your partner can explore your feelings, share your experiences, and work together to create positive change.

Through guided conversations and exercises, you’ll:

  • Identify Negative Patterns
Understand the cycles of behavior that keep you stuck in conflict and distance.

  • Explore Deep Emotions
Uncover and express the vulnerable emotions that are often hidden beneath anger, frustration, or withdrawal.

  • Rebuild Trust and Security
Create new, positive patterns of interaction that foster trust, security, and a sense of closeness.
