Sol Focused Group Yoga Therapy is very different from group exercise classes or group conversations led by motivational speakers. It is a somatic or embodied form of therapy that is solution focused—grounded in years of research and facilitated by a licensed psychotherapist.

Details:

Sol Focused Group Yoga Therapy is an 8-week group program that incorporates yoga and psychotherapy to help you transform your self-perceptions and quality of life. It’s an experiential form of Solution-Focused Therapy that brings people together for a powerful, confidence-building sense of belonging and support.

BEGIN
At the beginning of each session, we’ll connect with each other and identify the topic of focus (theme) that will serve as the structure for our journey together.

SLOW DOWN
Our cushions will be arranged in a circle. We’ll breathe, relax, and regulate our nervous systems.

TUNE IN
Then, I’ll guide us through a series of yoga poses to connect with our inner edges and inner wisdom. You do not need to be flexible or bendy—the poses are gentle and help us tune into what our bodies are saying.

EXPLORE
After the yoga portion of our session, we’ll return to our cushions with our journals—to explore any insights that bubbled to the surface of our consciousness in the yoga poses.

CONNECT
We’ll enter into a supportive and thought-provoking conversation about our experiences. Because I’m a licensed therapist, I may ask clarifying questions or offer insights that help guide the conversation to a deeper understanding of ourselves.

SHARE
Members of our group are welcome to participate in the conversation by sharing experiences, but you are never put on the spot—you can contribute to our discussion at your comfort level.

TRANSFORM
As you relax into the safety of true acceptance and support, you’ll be able to peel away the layers of your pseudo-self (the inauthentic ways you present yourself to the world), so the calm, relaxed, happy, and content version of you can emerge.

I offer the program in several ways:

  • At your yoga or meditation studio

  • As organizational retreats

How the program works:

  • One session per week for 8 weeks

  • Weekly sessions last 2 hours

Online groups sessions happen via:

  • My online telehealth platform

The program also includes:

  • A 1-day silent retreat

  • A newsletter with helpful resources

  • Daily yoga videos so you can practice at home

  • Homework assignments to help you continue integrating what you’re learning

  • Email and group support so you can stay consistent as you create new habits
